Pricing
One price, the whole product. Players never pay anything.
What you pay, and when.
You pay nothing today. What changes on that date is the price and never the product - every stringer has every feature at all three points on this line.
-
Now
$0/month
Every stringer, every feature.
No card is asked for at signup, because there is nothing to charge it. We will tell you before anything is charged for the first time.
-
From TODO: founding period end date
$19/month
If you set up a shop before that date.
Yours for as long as you keep the shop open, whatever the published price does later. That is a promise made in public, and it is kept.
-
From that same date
$29/month
If you set up a shop after it.
The published price, and it is published now - before anybody has been asked to pay it, rather than after they moved their bench onto this.
Only the first of those three is happening today. The founding period has not ended, nothing is being billed, and you can stop at any time.
At $29 a month the tool costs about an hour of bench time. A single extra racket sourced through the directory covers it.
One plan, and everybody has all of it.
There is no free tier, no upgrade and nothing switched off until you pay more. A stringer paying $19 and a stringer paying $29 are running exactly the same software.
-
The bench queue
Every job from the request to the racket being collected, in the order you are going to work through them.
-
Your catalog and your prices
Strings, extras and the labor fee, priced per sport and set by you. The customer never names a price and neither do we.
-
String and reel stock
Sets and reels count down as rackets are strung, so a color runs out on the screen before it runs out on the bench.
-
Walk-ins and jobs you write down
A clubmate who never used the app is still a job on your bench, with the same record as anybody else.
-
Your listing and your reviews
A public profile in the directory, with your price list on it, and reviews that belong to the work they are about.
-
Messages, photos and history
The conversation on each job, photos of the racket, and every racket’s own stringing history.
Free, and meant to stay free.
Finding a stringer, booking a restring, messaging about it and keeping the history of every racket you own cost nothing, and there is no paid version of the player side to be nudged towards.
The details
What happens when the founding period ends
You are told before it does, and before anything is charged. If you joined during the founding period you go on at $19 a month; if you joined after it, the price is the published one you signed up under. Stopping is always an option, and stopping does not take your records away from you.
How you will pay
There is no billing yet, because there is nothing to bill for yet. No card is asked for at signup and nothing is charged today. When a subscription does start it renews monthly until you cancel, cancelling stops the next renewal rather than cutting you off that day, and a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play is cancelled in their settings rather than ours. The Terms say all of that already, so what you agreed to covers it.
Is there an annual price
Not yet. Monthly is the only interval, and an annual rate is something to add when there is billing to attach it to.
Do you take a share of what I charge for stringing
No. A player pays you directly, away from RacketPilot - no card number, bank detail or payout account passes through us, and we take no percentage of the work. The subscription buys software, not customers. It pays for the tools you run your bench with, and it is a separate thing from the money a player pays you.
Why there is no free plan
Because a free plan is a line drawn through the product, and every line has to be guessed before meeting the stringers it is being drawn for. Drawing it on when you joined instead means one number and one date you can weigh up at signup, rather than a feature comparison at the worst possible moment to be reading one. It also means nothing you rely on can be moved behind a higher price later.
What if I only string a few rackets a month
Then this may not be worth it to you, and we would rather say so here than take the first month and let you work it out. It is a monthly subscription with nothing to commit to, so the honest answer is to run a season on it and stop if it has not paid for itself.
The lower rate is for the people who go first.
RacketPilot is being built with a working stringer rather than for an imagined one, and the founding period is for the stringers willing to run a real bench on something new. Email us and we will set you up.
